Time is catching up with the Time on My Hands Project! Years one, two and three are now complete, and the DVDs of growing up in and around Hornsea at the beginning of the last century, and the story of Hornsea Pottery in the words of those who worked there, either in production, or in management, are permanently on show in the museum, so pop in and have a look. You will be fascinated watching the stories told by people you probably know!
Year three gathered more rural recollections, from the villages of Brandesburton, Leven, North Frodingham, Withernwick and Wassand estate. All the stories we have gathered are being transcribed to enable us to publish a book to mark the completion of the project, which will contain many stories we just could not get on the DVDs.
There were many ways volunteers got involved; they could ..
•· learn transcription skills to help us write the stories down
•· help research images for the book of stories to be published at the end of the project
•· tell us a story (we helped you plan your story and then recorded it on video tape)
•· share their photographs (we scanned them and you got them straight back)
•· learn movie making and basic computer skills
•· introduce us to a friend who can do any of the above!
Films from all three years are now on view in Hornsea, Hedon and Withernsea Lighthouse museums, and you can contact the Project Officer Lyz Turner on 07828 870342 or email
